Interoperability project III

The FDT Group continues its activities to bring the system providers and the device manufacturers together in order to provide end users with integrated solutions right out of the box. Since November 2007, 22 FDT Group member companies have participated in a project at the facility of Dietz Automation GmbH in Neukirchen, Germany. The project is intended to test the interoperability of the FDT/DTM Technology in a very diverse setting.

ISA-SP103 “Field Device Tool Interface Specification” kicked-off in Scottsdale, Arizona

On June, 25, 2007 the forming meeting of ISA-SP103 “Field Device Tool Interface Specification” took place during ISA’s Summer Leaders Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. The committee ISA-SP103 was accepted by the Standards&Practices Board in January 2006 with the scope to develop a standard to fully integrate fieldbuses, devices and sub-systems as seamless parts of the automation life-cycle. While the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is working towards an international standard in its SC65E WG4 committee, the ISA-SP103 will contribute and assist the responsible U.S. TAG (US Technical Advisory Group) hosted by ISA as well (ISA-SPTAG65E, System Engineering & Management). It is planned to form the core for the TAG and to assist the TAG to select experts from the U.S.

FDT Group Releases dtmINSPECTOR 2.0

FDT Group and M&M Software announce the release of DTM test tool dtmINSPECTOR 2.0. This version of dtmINSPECTOR contains certification tests for Foundation Fieldbus, Interbus, DeviceNet extension to CIP in addition to the already existing Profibus and HART protocols. Several new test cases are also added for all protocols.
