Engineering consultant seeks to expand business by collaborating with the FDT Group
The FDT Group AISBL announced today that Industrial Automation Networks Inc., (IAN) a Canadian engineering consultancy firm that specializes in field level networks, has joined the FDT Group. “FDT Group membership provides valuable insight into the internationally standardized device integration technology for process and factory automation. We welcome IAN and anticipate that the FDT Group will provide distinct benefits as IAN engage with clients around the globe in a variety of industries,” states Glenn Schulz, managing director of the FDT Group.
FDT membership was a natural choice for IAN. IAN offers services ranging from front end design, detailed network design, commissioning, operational support, economic analysis, and training. “The key to making our services feasible is access to information. FDT Technology will enable us to unlock the vast amount of information contained in today’s digital communications devices. The ability of FDT Technology to transmit information back to the control system and associated databases regardless of the protocol is unique to FDT. Since FDT supports a full range of field level protocols regardless of industry, we are really excited to expand our FDT technical expertise, and help FDT remain the leading solution to integrate diagnostic rich device information in automation systems,” Industrial Automation Networks’ Director Ian Verhappen stated.
The FDT Group reaches out to educate industry professionals around the globe about the capabilities users may already have available for true open access to device integration. As recently reported in the ARCView, ‘Value Proposition for FDT Technology Continues to Increase’, “While many users do not realize it, FDT capability is already built into many of the devices, engineering, and asset management applications installed in their facilities.“ Engineering firms are the perfect source in helping end users tap into these resources available.
FDT continues to see forward movement from the North American market as new automation vendors of all types are increasingly interested in the technology. “We are driven to provide the end user industry with advanced device integration technology from all automation suppliers in the industry and we are excited to see a new member from the North American market,” states Schulz. FDT marketing teams around the globe have elevated FDT’s awareness through event activities, and FDT is seeing an increased interest as industry professionals embrace and understand the value of the technology.
