Field Communication Lounge to Debut at Hanover Fair 2011

March 29, 2011

FDT Group is co-founder of the Field Communication Lounge at Hanover Fair

The FDT Group AISBL joins forces with the Fieldbus Foundation, HART Communication Foundation, and PI (PROFIBUS & PROFINET International) to host the first-ever co-sponsored Field Communication Lounge in Hall 9, Booth D05 at this year’s Hanover Fair, Germany. Inside the Lounge, these organizations will provide a common display area and presentation forum in which experts will present the latest field communication and integration technology solutions that enable improved asset management, lower operating cost and reduce downtime. A series of 30-minute presentations will be held in the forum covering a wide range of practical cost-effective topics and applications.

The aim of the Field Communication Lounge is to create a single area for visitors to see and experience the latest in field communication and integration technologies and discuss how these technologies work together to deliver powerful results that can quickly improve a company’s bottom line. For the first time, fair visitors will have a central place to discuss and compare different communication protocols, their advantages, their applications and their integration.

As part of the Field Communication Lounge, visitors will find the FDT Group’s exhibition area, showing industrial automation without limits. Find out how FDT can integrate all devices in your plant, independent of supplier and communication protocol. The FDT Group shows a “hybrid plant” with Process and Factory Automation demo systems. These include FDT based products from the participating FDT member companies CodeWrights, Endress+Hauser, Invensys, KW Software, M&M Software, PACTware, Pepperl+Fuchs, Phoenix Contact, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, Vega, and Yokogawa connected through various communication protocols, such as HART, PROFIBUS, FF, IO-Link and much more.

The FDT Group will hold a Press Conference on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 2pm in Room Heidelberg. One of the highlights to be presented is the first public release of the new FDT2.0 specification.

The Field Communication Lounge can be found in Hall 9 – Booth D05. For the forum presentation schedule and more information please visit www.fdtgroup.org.
