FDT Specification and Annex
This specification is an interface specification for developers of FDT components for Function Control and Data Access within a Client Server architecture. The specification is a result of an analysis and design process to develop standard interfaces to facilitate the development of servers and clients by multiple vendors that shall interoperate seamlessly.
The addendum contains additional information concerning the FDT Specification 1.2. All changes are backward compatible and will be part of the next release of FDT.
The Foundation Fieldbus specific addendum to the FDT specification provides additional information for integrating the Foundation Fieldbus (FF) protocol into the Field Device Tool (FDT) Specification. The document describes communication schemas, protocol specific extensions and the means for block (e.g. transducer, resource or function blocks) representation. The scope of this addendum is Foundation Fieldbus device configuration.
The INTERBUS specific annex to the FDT specification provides additional information for integrating the INTERBUS protocol into the Field Device Tool (FDT) Specification. The document describes communication schemas and protocol specific extensions.
